Police said Monday they have found clues to identify a woman who was dismembered and found on a seawall south of Seoul last week.
The body, presumably belonging to a woman between her 20s and 40s, was discovered in Siheung, southwest of Seoul, by a passerby on Saturday night.
Police said the woman appeared to have been murdered no earlier than a week before.
No semen was discovered, suggesting she was not raped prior to death.
A preliminary autopsy found that she underwent surgery to remove her appendix.
Another surgery scar extending from her left shoulder to breast, and burns, presumably from moxibustion, were also discovered.
Police said they have also created a list of some 2,000 missing women across the country and will narrow it down as soon as they have more accurate information about her age. (Yonhap)
