Seoul Global Center is seeking people to work as translators and teachers of multicultural classes at schools.
The interpreters provide language assistance on living in the city and to help communicate the city government’s multicultural policies.
The Neighbors from Afar Program invites people from various countries into middle and elementary schools to give 90-minute lessons about the cultures of their home countries.
Both types of position are paid.
About 15 teachers are sought, with equal numbers from Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. The teachers should have Korean proficiency of at least TOPIK level 3 and be prepared to teach 4-5 lessons a month. The application deadline is Monday.
Interpreters are sought with native proficiency in English, Chinese, Uzbek, Filipino, Japanese, Russian, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Thai to work during business hours. Schedules vary from 2-5 days a week depending on language and the center involved.
Applicants should have TOPIK level 4 proficiency or above and apply by Feb. 10.
