Nvidia CEO Says Robotics Could Be South Korea’s Next Major Industry

Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang said robotics could become South Korea’s next major industry, highlighting the country’s manufacturing capabilities and technology expertise as artificial intelligence increasingly expands into physical-world applications.

Huang made the remarks during a visit to Seoul, where he met with executives from several major South Korean technology and industrial companies.

“Robotics is going to be the next major sector in Korea,” Huang told reporters, pointing to the country’s position as one of the world’s leading manufacturing economies.

The Nvidia chief said advances in artificial intelligence are accelerating the development of autonomous machines and intelligent robotic systems capable of operating in real-world environments. He said South Korea’s strengths in semiconductors, electronics and manufacturing could provide a competitive advantage as robotics technologies evolve.

His comments come as Nvidia expands partnerships with South Korean companies in areas including semiconductors, automotive technology, cloud computing and industrial automation. The company has sought to strengthen ties with Korean firms as demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow worldwide.

South Korea is home to global leaders in memory chips, consumer electronics and automobile production, industries that are expected to play an important role in the adoption of AI-driven robotics and automation technologies.

Nvidia has increasingly focused on what it calls “physical AI,” a category of technologies designed to enable robots and autonomous systems to understand and interact with the physical world.

Huang’s visit underscores South Korea’s growing importance in the global artificial intelligence supply chain as governments and companies invest heavily in next-generation computing, semiconductor and robotics technologies.
