The first Disneyland in the Middle East will be built in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
CNN and other foreign media reported on the 7th (local time) that the Walt Disney Company plans to create Disney’s seventh theme park resort in Abu Dhabi.
This is Disney’s first theme park in the Middle East and the first new theme park to be unveiled in about 15 years since the announcement of Shanghai Disneyland in 2010.

The new theme park will be built on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s leading tourist destination, where famous theme parks such as Warner Bros. World and Ferrari World are gathered.
“Our seventh theme park, Abu Dhabi, will combine modern architecture with cutting-edge technology to provide an immersive entertainment experience in a unique and modern way,” said Robert Iger, CEO of Walt Disney Company.
The theme park is said to be developed and constructed by Miral, a local company, and Disney is in charge of design and operation, and will open in the early 2030s.
Disney, meanwhile, said in its first-quarter earnings announcement that it achieved $23.6 billion in revenue, up 7% year-on-year on the back of strong streaming and theme parks segments. Operating profit rose 15% to $4.4 billion during the same period.
