U.S. Government issues limited ‘memorial passports’ including portrait of President Donald Trump to mark 250th anniversary of independence

It is an unusual measure that reflects the image of an incumbent president in a national symbol, and the possibility of controversy is also raised.

According to the New York Times and the Guardian, the released draft has a portrait of President Donald Trump on top of his signature in gold ink. The inside of the passport will contain the phrases of the U.S. Declaration of Independence and the American flag, and will also include images of leaders signing the Declaration of Independence in the early days of the country’s founding.

The passport can be issued to any U.S. citizen who applies through the Washington Passport Authority. There is no additional cost, and it is provided only until the prepared quantity is exhausted. However, the size of the issuance was not disclosed.

The latest passport is part of the U.S. government’s “America 250” commemorative project. The project is said to include a variety of events, including an auto race and a mixed martial arts (UFC) race at the National Mall in central Washington.

The New York Times pointed to the move as an extension of the recent trend to reflect President Donald Trump’s name, image and signature in government agencies and various symbols. He explained that Washington’s performance facility, the Kennedy Center, was named, and some policies, such as “Trump Savings Account” and “Trump Rx,” were also operated in the form of personal names.

His face is also appearing in major government buildings in Washington. Large banners with Trump’s face are reportedly hung in the buildings of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Agriculture.

A plan to make the face of the president into a large structure is also under discussion. A 76 meter-tall golden arch called “Arc de Trump” has received preliminary approval with the approval of some figures despite negative public opinion.

However, not all attempts have been made smoothly. A proposal to rename Penn Station in New York to Trump’s name was scrapped.
