
Recently, an employee who lost 20kg and received 20,000 yuan was born.
According to the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong on Tuesday, an IT company based in Shenzhen, China, has drawn attention with its diet challenge. It has been taking care of its employees’ health every year since 2022.
The main point is that all employees can challenge and pay 500 yuan for every 0.5kg weight loss.
An employee recently lost more than 20 kilograms in 90 days and received a bonus of 20,000 yuan. “I worked out for an hour and a half every day while meticulously managing my diet,” the employee said. “This is the best time of my life.”

The company has conducted the challenge seven times since 2022, paying a total of 2 million yuan in prize money so far. Last year, 99 employees participated and 1 million yuan was compensated.
There is also a penalty clause in the challenge that says, “If you gain weight again, you will have to pay a fine of 800 yuan per 0.5kg,” but no one has paid it yet.
A company official said, “We are encouraging employees to develop a healthy lifestyle,” adding, “It is a positive motivation for employees to work and live with new passion.”
At the national level, China also declared a ‘weight management year’ last year and is pursuing a three-year plan to curb the increase in obesity rates.
