South Korea’s presidential office distributes “digital goods” with President Lee Jae-myung’s handwritten signature

The presidential office has decided to produce and distribute “digital goods” such as smart watches and smartphone background screens with President Lee Jae-myung’s handwritten signature.

The presidential office’s digital communication secretary’s office said on the 12th, “We will officially release and distribute digital souvenirs ‘Presidential Digital Goods’ made with the people this month.”

Digital goods include undisclosed photos of President Lee’s swearing-in ceremony, photos of diplomatic sites such as the G7 summit scheduled to attend next week, and handwritten messages from the president.

Anyone can download it through the Presidential Social Network Service (SNS) channels such as Facebook and blogs.

The presidential office plans to develop applications dedicated to digital goods in the future and expand them to a public communication platform.

The president’s office explained that it had planned such a plan on Lee’s SNS after receiving a number of requests that “the people want to use the president’s watch together.”

Kim Nam-guk, secretary for digital communication, said, “Digital goods are not just souvenirs, but sensuous communication platforms where the people participate and connect in state affairs.”
