ChatGPT Causes Global Simultaneous Service Failure

Open AI ‘Chat GPT’, AI video tool ‘Sora’, and voice mode showed service failures.

If you look at the open AI status page, ChatGPT global failure has lasted more than 7 hours. The failure to increase the error rate of voice mode is ongoing so far. This service failure affected the overall ChatGPT, Sora, and API services.

The service failure occurred at around 2 a.m. on Saturday in Eastern time. It started at around 7 p.m. on Saturday in Korean time and lasted until early morning. ChatGPT sent error messages such as “Too many simultaneous requests” and “Hmm… I think something is wrong.”

“Error rates and response delays are increasing in various services,” OpenAI said on its status page at 9 a.m. on the 10th. “Engineers have identified the root cause and are actively working to solve the problem.”

“Almost all ChatGPT components work well for all users,” OpenAI said. “The error rate is still increasing in voice mode, so we are working to completely fix this component.”

ChatGPT updated its real-time voice conversation function ‘Advanced Voice Mode’ for paid users on the 7th. The advanced voice mode is a function that allows you to use more diverse emotions and natural accents. It has not been confirmed whether the update of the voice mode is the cause of the service failure.
