Only 300 bottles of “limited whiskey” produced worldwide were sold out immediately after its launch, and are now sold at over $2980 a glass at some hotels.
According to the New York Post on the 16th, Irish brewer Bushmills launched 46-year-old Bushmills 46-year-old whisky for 12,500 U.S. dollars last month. The whisky is known as the oldest Irish single malt whisky ever sold, and all 300 bottles have been sold as soon as it was released, which is currently unavailable.
“Malt Whiskey” refers to whisky distilled using only barley, and one of them is “Single Malt Whiskey” produced at a distillery. The whisky sold out quickly, but it is still available for order at $2,980 a glass at some hotels in New York, excluding taxes and tips.
After tasting the whiskey, the media reported that it has a caramel scent and is surprisingly soft. It also said that it smells like chocolate, opens your eyes wide, and that it doesn’t sting your throat, but the strong scent of alcohol instantly wakes you up. The media said, “In a cold comparison, a drink is more expensive than staying overnight in a suite on the upper floor of a hotel,” but added, “If someone pays for it, I will order it without hesitation.”
The hotel, which sells the whiskey, said it added two ounces of the limited-edition whiskey to its menu last month. The whiskey is said to be kept safely in the hotel’s office by lock. It will be sold only until the remaining amount is exhausted. Currently, there are only about 11 cups left, which has a higher scarcity value. “If you want to enjoy it at a lower price, find another hotel,” the media said. “Some places are selling it for 1,250 dollars and 1,400 dollars each.”
