Korea Airports Corporation and Seoul National University team of professor Kim Nan-do collaborated on airport services.

Korea Airports Corporation (CEO: Yoon Hyeung-jung) has decided to work with Seoul National University’s Consumer Trend Analysis Center (Professor Kim Nan-do), which presents the best insights in the field of consumer trends in Korea. At the kick-off meeting on January 27, the Corporation and the Consumer Trend Analysis Center agreed to discover the differentiated charm of the regional airport and to provide new customer experiences and services that have never been seen before by restapting it into a space that matches local characteristics. It plans to devise and introduce measures to improve spatial power by incorporating them into the airport service sector. Through a joint study of team of professors Kim Nan-do and Tutorial Consulting, the Korea Airports Corporation plans to internalize trend capabilities from a consumer perspective and rebrand the airport as a space for voluntary exchange and empathy as well as travel purposes. It provides the best customized service by analyzing the environment, characteristics, and visitor tendencies around the airport, and in particular, it will conduct joint research on quality improvement and marketing strategies of the “Airport Online Duty Free” that the corporation will introduce within this year. The “Airport Online Duty Free Shop,” which is being prepared for the first time in Korea, is a system that connects the airport website with one-stop, and unlike existing online and downtown duty-free shops, real-time product information can be inquired and purchased up to an hour before boarding the aircraft.

Currently, online duty-free shops in the city are only allowed to purchase duty-free items three to five hours before boarding time. Kim Nan-do professor said, “The MZ generation, which leads the latest trend, finds hip spaces regardless of location or distance. We will help transform it into an attractive airport that can be enjoyed even if it is not for travel purposes,” he said.  Yoon Hyeung-jung, president of Korea Airports Corporation, said, “We expect 14 airports across the country to lead the trend and become the best landmarks amid the post-corona era and reopening.”
