The Gwangju Tourism Foundation (CEO Kim Jin-gang) announced that it will jointly market with Jeonnam at Travel Tour Expo 2023, the Philippines’ largest travel fair, to attract stay-at-home travelers linked to Muan International Airport. Travel Tour Expo 2023 is a large travel fair that attracts more than 100,000 visitors every year, and this year, 270 companies from seven countries participated in the SMX Convention Center in Manila for three days from February 3 to 5..At the fair, Gwangju promoted the Festival City Gwangju, which is friendly to Philippine tourists and has unique attractions with events and festival-oriented tourism contents such as media art and night view tours, (design) biennale, kimchi festival, and gourmet and K-pop festival.

Amid the anticipated influx of foreign tourists along with the pandemic, the joint promotion center organized by Gwangju and Jeollanam-do introduced various experience events for ordinary consumers and business consultations for the local travel industry, focusing on Muan International Airport-linked products and west coast tourism products linking Incheon, Gwangju and Jeonnam.

“At a time when the global tourism market resumes, it is very important to preempt overseas travel demand,” said Kim Jin-gang, CEO of the Gwangju Tourism Foundation. “Gwangju and Jeonnam will continue to cooperate to attract overseas tourists linked to Muan International Airport while increasing their attractiveness as a city that wants to stay and travel.”
