Fort Lauderdale in Florida offers no shortage of clubs, restaurants and other ways for young people to spend their money. Natalie Baddour, however, isn’t interested.
Baddour, 26, is obsessed with saving. She’s managed to save about US$300,000 (S$390,000) by socking away over half of the income from her merchandising job with pet supply giant Chewy, including sales of the company’s stock. She lives with a roommate, rarely goes out, cooks at home and drives an 18-year-old car. The sacrifices, she says, are worth it if they mean she’s financially secure later in life.
