Increasing number of people losing weight through chat GPT worldwide

A man in his 50s in Japan is drawing attention as he said he lost 11kg in a month using the interactive artificial intelligence (AI) service “Chat GPT.” The man said, “Science and technology can change lives,” and that he can easily go on a difficult diet with the help of technology such as AI.

According to Taiwan’s Zhongtian Newspaper Network, a Japanese journalist recently said on his social media (SNS), “I lost weight from 91kg to 79.9kg in January this year,” adding, “It was not willpower but a way to make me succeed in returning to weight 15 years ago.”

He admitted that he used weight loss injections such as “gigobi.” However, he explained that these obesity treatments helped him to cope with hunger better than to lose weight in a short period of time.

“If a person like me who eats and drinks a lot can make rational choices when he is hungry or irritated, half of them are already successful,” he said. In particular, he said he used ChatGPT as a trainer who flogges him 24 hours a day. Every time he eats, he takes a picture of what he eats and sends it to ChatGPT to seek judgment on calories and other factors.

ChatGPT got angry with a straight face whenever he ate fat food. One day, after eating two pieces of fat meat, he didn’t report it to ChatGPT and belatedly “truthed,” but ChatGPT continued to scold him, saying, “I’m angry.”

ChatGPT said, “Salt is scarier to gain weight than sugar. You have high uric acid levels, so be careful,” and advised, “If you are hungry in the middle of the night, eat only seven almonds.” “ChatGPT is a little chatty, but professional and reliable,” he said.

His strong will led him to go on a diet thanks to a bet he made with a friend. In the New Year’s celebration, he vowed to buy a luxury watch if he doesn’t lose 10 percent of his weight by the end of January.

It was a bet for fun, but I was suffocated to see that the price of the product I searched on the Internet was over 2 million Taiwan dollars. “I often surrendered to delicious food even after shouting out diet, but I couldn’t tolerate failure this time,” he said.

“For me, this diet wasn’t a huge hardship,” he said. “The sense of accomplishment I felt when the number of weight scales decreased little by little every day was addictive.”

“It’s not impossible if you use a tool like AI properly and motivate yourself to not retreat,” he stressed. As such, there are many cases where AI such as ChatGPT is used for customized health care. Last year, U.S. man Cody Cron (56) drew attention by saying that he successfully lost 11 kilograms in 46 days by making and implementing plans such as a customized diet and exercise through ChatGPT.

However, if you rely too much on AI and fail to filter out unverified medical and health information, you may put yourself at risk.

In a research report released last year, the American Academy of Internal Medicine (ACP) introduced the case of a man who suffered from mental illness from the wrong diet obtained from AI.

A man in his 60s in the United States asked ChatGPT how to reduce salt intake, which advised men to use ‘sodium bromide’ instead of salt.

The problem was that sodium bromide is toxic as a substance used in psychiatric drugs such as sleeping pills, tranquilizers, and sedatives, as well as disinfectants in swimming pools. After consuming sodium bromide, the man developed symptoms such as hallucinations and insomnia, as well as cherry hemangiomas and hair loss, which cause red tumors on the skin.

In response, the medical community as well as ChatGPT developer OpenAI urged people to seek professional counseling without relying on AI for health and medical information, including diet.

OpenAI also unveiled “Chat GPT Health,” a health-related function, in ChatGPT last month so that users can properly search for health-related information. About 260 doctors around the world reviewed hundreds of thousands of information and verified safety and clarity through clinical evaluation, OpenAI explained.
