A good chopping board changes the details of a dish. Consumers are agonizing over which product to choose as there is a mixture of various information ranging from plastic cutting boards that are feared to be microplastic, wooden cutting boards that require careful management, and glass and metal cutting boards that are misunderstood to make a knife dull. U.S. life information platform “Goodhousekeeping” has selected EpiCurian’s “All-in-One” chopping board as the winner of the 2026 Kitchen Awards. It’s a paper cutting board… What kind of product would it be?
Goodhouse Keeping Kitchen Lab said it has been testing more than 30 types of cutting boards for the past six years. In this evaluation, we also checked the anti-slip function of cutting boards and examined the occurrence of knife sensations and scratches by cutting various ingredients such as onions, garlic, parsley, and beets with Western knives and oriental knives, respectively. In addition to the difficulty of hand washing and the performance of removing stains and odors, we also evaluated whether distortion occurs when using a dishwasher. In the case of Kitchen Award-nominated products, five general consumers tested them for practical use and verified their convenience in the actual kitchen environment.

EpiCurian cutting board, which was selected as a Kitchen Award winner, is a paper composite material made by pressing paper and resin. Although it is neither plastic nor wood, it has the advantages of the two materials evenly, according to the company. Thin and light, it is easy to use, has no deformation even when put in a dishwasher, and is as hard and durable as a wooden cutting board, making it easy to use for a long time.
The paper cutting board they selected did not deform in the dishwasher, and one side had a smooth side and a juice groove on the other, making it suitable for both meat and fruit grooming. The non-slip pads applied on both sides hardly wore out after months of use and washing. It was also well received for the fact that odors and stains do not fade easily. In consumer tests, there were particularly many opinions that “it dries light and quickly, making it easy to store above and under the refrigerator.”
However, it was pointed out as a disadvantage that scratches occur relatively easily and that the color fades over time and the feeling of use stands out. Another burden is that the price is higher than that of plastic cutting boards. However, the test team assessed that changes in appearance do not affect functions or performance.
The Good House Keeping Kitchen Award is nominated for hundreds of products every year, and 345 cases were received this year. Not only the test results, but also whether they are differentiated in the market and factors that consumers may actually be interested in are included in the selection criteria.
Nicole Papantoniu, director of Goodhouse Keeping Kitchen Lab, who oversaw the test, said, “The Epicurean cutting board is a combination of lightweight and durability and has shown stable performance in actual use environments. It can be recommended as a ‘trusted product’ for a long time.”
