It is to drink a drink and use the bathroom, but there are also warnings that drinks such as “swallowing drugs” will have a bad effect on intestinal health.
According to the Hongseong Newspaper in China on the 23rd, the Chinese franchise beverage industry has recently started marketing a bunch of tissues with drinks that are said to have a refreshing and weight loss effect.
The so-called “fresh drink” is said to be made by adding high-concentration probiotics, purun (dried plum), dragon fruit, etc. to milk tea, yogurt, and fruit juice.
The industry is marketing with the phrases “Jang Exercise,” “Detox,” “Low Calories,” and “Those with weak intestines should be careful about their intake.” In particular, influencers posted videos on social networking services (SNS) of them heading to the bathroom with tissues after drinking the beverage, marketing a bunch of tissues on top of the beverage when a store employee handed it over to a customer.
However, some consumers have complained of side effects after drinking these drinks, raising concerns in the medical community.
A netizen said on his SNS, “After drinking yogurt drinks at a franchise beverage store, symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, and vomiting appeared, and he was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis at the hospital.”
In response, an anal surgeon in Nanjing pointed out, “The probiotic content of these drinks is 5 to 10 times the recommended daily amount,” adding, “This can lead to an imbalance in intestinal bacteria and symptoms such as abdominal pain and abdominal distention.”
