While Netflix animation ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ is gaining popularity worldwide, official goods are also receiving enthusiastic responses

On the 31st, 108 kinds of K-pop Demon Hunters goods are on sale at Netflix Shop, the official product sales website of Netflix.

As K-pop Demon Hunters gained huge popularity around the world, the types of related goods also increased significantly. Various products such as T-shirts, pants, mobile phone cases, glass cups, eco-bags, and stickers with various images, including popular girl group Huntrix, boy group Lion Boyz, and character Devil Hunter Duffy Tiger, have been released, drawing attention from fans.

Especially, abs T-shirts of Abby, a muscular member of the Lion Boys, are popular. The t-shirts reflect the scene where the members of Huntrix were mesmerized by Abby’s abs at the first meeting. A sweatshirt reproducing the pajamas worn by Mira, a member of Huntrix, is also eye-catching. A large-sized polar bear with dark eyebrows and mouth shape was printed.

Foreign fans are also showing high interest in K-pop Demon Hunters goods. “I’m crying. It’s our official merchandise!” one foreign fan said with a picture of his abs t-shirt. However, some consumers say that the prices of the goods are “expensive.” K-pop Demon Hunters is a Netflix original animation based on K-pop. It is set in a dual world where popular K-pop girl group members also act as devil hunters off stage. In the sixth week since its release, Netflix announced on Thursday that K-pop Demon Hunters has officially become the highest-watching Netflix original animation.

K-pop Demon Hunters Original Soundtrack (OST) is also making a splash by entering the U.S. Billboard’s main single chart “Hot 100” for three consecutive weeks. According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 29th, “Golden” sung by Huntrix ranked second on the main single chart “Hot 100.”

Some analysts say that the K-pop Demon Hunters craze has created a greater promotional effect for Seoul than the hosting of the Olympics. Kim Byung-min, Seoul’s deputy mayor for political affairs, said on YTN radio’s Issue & People on the 30th, “It’s an exaggeration, but I heard that K-pop Demon Hunters has the effect of promoting Seoul and South Korea beyond the Olympics,” adding, “It seems that a famous singer actor in Korea is not just a good thing, but a connection that makes him fall in love with Korea, Seoul, and the culture of Seoul.”
