There’s a caveat for those planning to visit Turkiye on a Turkish Airlines flight

To maintain order in the cabin, Turkish Airlines will fine passengers who get up from their seats before the seat belt indicator lights go off immediately after the plane lands.

According to the New York Post, the Civil Aviation Administration of Turkiye recently sent a notice to airlines, saying that passengers who rush out after landing can be fined up to 70 dollars. The move is aimed at preventing all passengers from flocking to the airport immediately after landing and maintaining order to get off at once.

The Civil Aviation Administration said, “Some passengers have been flocking to the aisle all at once after landing, raising safety concerns,” adding, “Please respect the order of disembarkation of passengers in or around you and wait your turn.” The National Aviation Administration reportedly instructed flight attendants to report any passengers who violate the regulations.

According to the media, people can be fined if they stand in the passage until it is their turn to get off. In addition, the act of removing the seat belt while the plane is on the runway or opening the luggage box before parking the plane is also subject to fines. The airline is also considering blacklisting and managing violent passengers who do not comply with airline regulations in the future.
