a unique experiment in Australian cinemas

Australia’s unique movie theater, which allows audiences to throw popcorn and scream during movie screenings, is a hot topic.

The New York Post reported on Monday a special screening of the “Minecraft Movie” held at a movie theater in South Australia. The special screening is designed so that fans of the popular game “Minecraft” can actively participate and enjoy scenes in movies. The movie theater encouraged its audience to dress up as characters in the game and scream or throw popcorn at certain scenes in the movie.

In particular, when the movie character “Baby Zombie” appeared on a chicken, the audience shouted loudly and threw popcorn to the line “Chicken Jockey” shouted by actor Jack Black. In the video shared on social networking services, many audiences enjoyed throwing popcorn with cheers during the movie screening, drawing attention.

“The theater industry, which is in a difficult situation, planned this event to attract the attention of the audience,” a movie theater official said. “Unlike some theaters banning screaming while watching movies, it allowed audiences to enjoy movies more in a free atmosphere.”

However, the movie theater explained that throwing drinks or other food other than popcorn is strictly prohibited.
