According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) in Hong Kong on the 24th, Yuan, a resident of Beijing, invested 1.55 million yuan to purchase a Mercedes-Maybach S480 and operate a high-end ride-hailing service.
Yuan has gained 120,000 followers by sharing his daily life through an account running a taxi to Maybach. He has been providing luxury car taxi services in Beijing since 2019, and began recording his driving routine on video after purchasing Maybach in November last year.
In a recently released video, Yuan said, “I started working at 6:45 a.m. and made 4,000 yuan with only one customer all day.” “Driving a Maybach taxi is not just a job, but a livelihood,” he said. “This model is currently only available for special order in Beijing and Shanghai.”
Yuan paid a down payment of 680,000 yuan to purchase Maybach. Of this, 500,000 yuan was saved by the taxi industry over the past six years, and the rest was covered by a five-year loan. The monthly repayment is 14,466 yuan.
Yuan’s service focuses on “quality” and targets high-end reservation customers. It processes an average of 40 orders per month, and earns more than 5000 yuan in one run.
Yuan, who saves 10,000 yuan per month even after personal spending, said, “You can save stably by driving Maybach at the age of 30 while spending 3,000 yuan a month for fuel, 2,000 to 3,000 yuan for food, and 4,500 yuan a month.”
