A monkey in India, who is running away with people’s belongings, is seen bartering away, making many people laugh.
According to NDTV, an Indian media outlet, a video clip of a monkey holding a mobile phone receiving food and returning the mobile phone was uploaded on Instagram on Wednesday, recording more than 370,000 likes. In the video released, a monkey is sitting on a balcony holding a mobile phone. The phone the monkey is holding was the Galaxy S25. This model is also known to be an expensive phone in India.
The owner threw a container of mango juice up to change the monkey’s mind after the expensive mobile phone was taken away. The monkey, which grabbed the juice with a hand other than the one holding the phone, saw this and immediately dropped the phone down, and the owner was able to regain his smartphone.

Internet users who watched the video said, “Is this a barter?” and “I think he took the phone to get something to eat in the first place. He’s smart.” “He must have liked the mango juice deal.”
In fact, studies have shown that monkeys have the ability to distinguish expensive items among tourists’ belongings.
Researchers at the University of Lesbridge in Canada confirmed that in 2021, Uluwatu Temple monkeys in Bali, Indonesia, were adept at determining what tourist belongings were most important and using them to take advantage of them.
The researchers observed monkeys at the temple for about 300 days and confirmed that tourists first tried to rob cell phones or wallets that are likely to exchange for food.
This behavior of monkeys appears to have been maintained for several generations for at least 30 years, they said.
