A piece of Cheetos resembling the popular animation ‘Pocket Monster’ was sold for $87,840

According to the New York Post on the 4th, a piece of Pokemon-shaped Cheetos snack was auctioned for $87,840.

The snack is nicknamed “Chitozad,” a combination of the Pokémon characters Lizard and Chitos. Chitozad somewhat resembles a fire-breathing Pokémon Lizard, which was sold to an anonymous buyer on an auction website.

Chitozad was discovered at a famous auction house in Pennsylvania between 2018 and 2022. His popularity soared in the second half of last year as it became a hot topic on social networking services (SNS).

Chitozad was later auctioned off on February 11 for $275. It surpassed $10,000 on March 1 and was sold for $72,000 on the 2nd. The successful bid price, including a purchase premium, is a whopping $87,840.

Chitozad is said to be attached to a custom Pokémon card and comes in a transparent storage box to prevent it from breaking down.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Cheetos have been sold for a large price. In 2017, a Cheetos resembling Harambe, a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo, was sold for nearly $100,000 on eBay.
