PUTRAJAYA: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has taken a dig at Umno for allegedly breaching its party constitution. “We (Bersatu) held a political bureau meeting yesterday (March 8) and we decided to continue with the general assembly as it is the law and we are a group that abides by the laws in place. “There are other groups that fail to comply even when the Registrar of Societies (ROS) issues letters, but what we are doing is (complying with) the law,” he told reporters outside MACC Headquarters here on Thursday (March 9). The Bersatu secretary-general said the party must hold its general assembly within an 18-month period and so it was going ahead. “There are certain people who do not respect the law and the rakyat knows that such groups should not lead our country. “Our responsibility is to ensure that the law is followed by all and not slanted towards any side. We are all rakyat and are all the same,” he said. Read full story
