China’s electric vehicle “Biyadi” sales are high

According to local media such as the Korea Securities Times and Industries on the 7th, Biyadi’s car sales in October were 217,800 units.

This is an 8.2% increase from 201300 units sold the previous month, and a 169% increase compared to the same month last year.

Biyadi’s market share in China’s electric vehicle market has increased to 32%.

Biyadi’s growth was notable compared to China’s sluggish auto sales in October due to production disruptions and weak consumer sentiment caused by the spread and blockade of COVID-19, local media reported.

China’s automobile production and sales were low in October due to the spread of COVID-19, supply chain disruptions due to the blockade, and weak consumer sentiment, said a joint meeting of Chinese passenger cars.

“New energy car sales are estimated to be 680,000 units, up only 1% from the previous month.”

Earlier, the passenger car joint meeting said that total passenger car sales in China for three weeks from the 1st of last month were 1,063,000 units, down 6% and 3% from the same period last month and the same period last year, respectively.

From January to October this year, Biyadi’s cumulative sales increased to 1,397,900 units, up 234% year-on-year Biyadi,

which stopped production of internal combustion locomotives in April and declared “all-in” of new energy vehicles (electric vehicles, hybrids, and hydrogen cars),

has maintained its No. 1 position in global electric vehicle sales as its monthly sales exceeded 100,000 units for the third consecutive month since July and surpassed 200,000 units for the first time in September.

Tesla’s sales in China in October fell 14% from the previous month to only 71,704 units, widening the gap with Billadi.

If this trend continues, the Chinese auto industry predicts that Biyadi’s cumulative sales of 1.5 million units this year will be easy and that 2 million units will be achieved if the supply of parts is smooth.

Biyadi, which announced its full-fledged entry into the European market in September, sold 9,529 units overseas in October, up 23% from the previous month.

Biyadi’s entry into Europe is to expand competition with Tesla to global markets outside of China, Chinese media reported.

Amid the rapid growth of new energy cars amid various support from the Chinese government, the China Automobile Manufacturers Association predicted that China’s sales of new energy cars will exceed 6 million units this year.
